On November 22nd. in 1963, I was 9 years old & was home sick for the day. I was watching TV when a news flash with Walter Cronkite on CBC came on. He was emotional & I can hear his words in my mind to this day. I immediately alerted my mother, who was in the kitchen washing dishes & her reaction was like a close family member had died. This date is also my birthday as well as my wife's birthday. We were both married on Nov. 22nd as well. Weird coincidence but there it is.

I was a substitute teacher in the Roman Catholic school board of Greater St John's in 1971 to 1973 and was in a lot of different schools. I saw a few nuns--a couple of principals. However, I don't remember any huge conversations about how you had to Roman Catholic to go to heaven or about going to hell. The stuff about the strap is incredible. I never saw anything like that. Is Critch making this stuff up? Ihave to read this book.
